![]() ![]() ![]() In Janet Badia's reflection of The Bell Jar, she considers the debate of how the book should be read. Although based on her life, Plath never meant for the book to be read autobiographically (Badia). The protagonist in The Bell Jar, Esther Greenwood, is considered by most as an autobiographical representation of author Sylvia Plath. It is clear that this paper, compared with 2.1, contains more analysis and more convincing arguments. All the previous work compiled and contributed to the composition of this single essay. This, along with Perloff, Abbott, and my definite direction for argument, made this version much easier to write than 2.1. The extra time helped me find some much more relavant examples in the text. After writing 2.1, I kept searching the book for more and better examples. ![]() Finding the Perloff article made my argument much easier. ![]()
